Hi, I'm Yoni, a London artist and this is my shop.
Yoni Alter is a multimedia artist exploring the threshold between art and design. His vibrantly coloured works segue between the figurative, the abstract, form, and space, always challenging viewers to look twice. Guided by experimentation and semiotics, Yoni passionately seeks new ways of creating visual representations, working across sculpture, painting, print, and digital media.
YONI ALTER‘S EARLY CAREER AND INFLUENCES
Alter studied Art and Design in Jerusalem before completing his MA in Graphic Design at the University of the Arts London. London ceaselessly functions as a source of inspiration for the artist. For example, his debut London show at Kemistry Gallery creatively abstracted London architecture and the surrounding urban landscape. Yoni synthesises sharp silhouettes, bold colouring, and Pop Art iconography, reflecting the seductive creative vibe of London city.
COLLABORATIONS AND DESIGN
Yoni also designs graphic works for iconic brands, with past collaborations including projects with Karl Lagerfeld and Hermes. He is also behind a best-selling merchandise range for Tate. You may have seen his work covering double-decker buses; on a 25m long banner in Shoreditch and on a 25m tall LED tree in Wembley. His art was part of the acclaimed 100 Years of Graphic Design exhibition. Press features include The Guardian, Phaidon, Campaign, The Atlantic, and My Modern Met, to name a few.
